Optionally, an activated carbon filter and/or a sediment filter can be installed upstream of the Purofast to protect the membrane from chlorine or sand / rust.

This is especially important during holidays abroad (Southern Europe, but also in Holland) where chlorinated surface water is used.

After removing the pre-filter, the hose can be reconnected with a plug-in coupling.

The pre-filters are very efficient and only need to be replaced every few years. They have no influence on the water quality, which is practically only determined by the downstream membrane, but only serve to prevent premature membrane damage.
